About Clothing Labels

Clothing Labels are great for keeping track of your kids clothing. You can easily iron the on to nearly all types of fabrics, and once they're on they won't come off. Using clothing labels to keep track of your kids clothing means that you won't have to replace expensive items, saving you lots of money and hassle.

What materials are the Clothing Labels made from?

The Bright Star Kids clothing labels range is produced on fantastic vinyl material that becomes part of the fabric that it's ironed on to. It’s soft and smooth so it won't irritate sensitive skin.

Can Clothing Labels be used in my washing machine and tumble dryer?

Yes as long as you've applied them corectly, they're so durable that they'll probably outlast the clothing itself. They can be put through washing machines and tumble dryers without peeling off.

What can Clothing Labels be used on?

These clothing labels work best on fabrics that allow irons to be used on fabrics such as 100% cotton, which have a slight texture as this allows the label to grip better. Some fabrics that are smoother may require a hotter temperature and a longer amount of pressure to be applied.

If any of the clothing labels appear not to have stuck, try to increase the heat of your iron and with the special paper (good quality parchment/baking paper) still over, press down on the problem area for a few seconds. Repeat until the clothing labels looks completely merged with the fabric.

You should make sure to use a completely dry iron. Pour all water out to ensure that there is absolutely NO STEAM, and this should make the Clothing Labels bond well with the material. If you’d like to get help, please contact us.

Follow our iron-on label instructions carefully to make sure that they are applied correctly.

Are Clothing Labels safe to use in boarding schools or nursing homes?

Yes, iron on clothing labels are perfect to use in nursing homes and boarding schools that use industrial washing & tumble drier machines as long as they've been ironed on correctly.

Do you have sew-on Clothing Labels?

We only offer iron-on clothing labels, which most people find much quicker and easier to use than sew-on labels. Iron-on labels works great in boarding schools and nursing homes, and once they're applied correctly will be more durable than the sew on clothing labels type.

Can I personalise my kids Clothing Labels?

Yes, you can personalise & preview your clothing labels before you buy to make sure they look perfect. You can type your child's name on 1 or 2 lines, plus choose from 6 different colours, and over 80 icons.

Will the printed Clothing Labels look exactly the same as the preview?

Yes, whatever you see on your preview will be very similar to how your clothing labels will be printed. Rest assured that all clothing labels go through strict quality controls, to guarantee that every item leaving Bright Star Kids is absolutely perfect.

Do you have transparent Clothing Labels?

Sorry this is not available for Clothing Labels. If you need to have no visible backing, the only way is to get them embroidered.

Can I choose more than one colour for my Clothing Labels?

If you’d like to have more than one colour in your clothing labels kit check out our Split Clothing Labels Kit. Our Split Label Kits are also great when you only want a few labels for more than one child. All the single clothing label packs allow only one colour, which most people find to be good for colour co-ordinating their kid’s belongings.

Are Clothing Labels available in label value kits?

Yes you can get the clothing tag labels as part of our Pre-School & Daycare Label Kit and School Label Kits. These kits are great value for money and contain all the labels you'll need to label all your kids belongings.

What icons can I choose for my Clothing Labels?

We’ve designed a huge range of really cute and funky icons, perfect for girls and boys of all ages. You can use these on our Dot Clothing Labels range only.

Are the Clothing Labels pre-cut?

Yes. Every single clothing label that leaves Bright Star Kids is individually cut so that it’s easy for you to just peel off and iron on many different types of fabrics.

Will Clothing Labels work with all fabrics?

These iron on labels will work with the majority of your kids clothing. They work especially well with textured cotton fabrics, as it gives the label enough surface to grip to. As our iron on clothing labels will only work with fabrics that allow the heat of an iron, plastic based fabrics won't work well. Occasionally you may also find some fabrics that are iron friendly don't take the iron on labels easily. Sometimes really soft fabrics cause problems as there's not enough grip in the fabric for the label to adhere to. If you find a certain type of fabric is causing a problem, then you may need to try a hotter temperature and longer time for the label to adhere to the fabric.

Can I remove Clothing Labels?

Once you have ironed the clothing labels to the fabric properly, you won't be able to remove the labels. This works great in most circumstances as they won't come off in washing machines and tumble driers. It also means that items of clothing can't be taken as it will have your child's name permanently stuck to it. Occasionally you may need to remove the label, but as they have been adhered permanently, it can be very difficult to remove. Some of our Mums use the same method of adhering the label to remove it by heating it up. Once heated up you can then try to peel the label off. You will most likely find that you won't be able to get it off in one clean sweep. You also won't be able to iron another once on top as they'll melt into each other. The best way would be to cut a piece of fabric off and sew it/use fabric glue to stick it over the top.
